It's my mum's birthday, and my sister, bro-in-law, Angela and myself were all there celebrating it with her. To be exact, she turned 55 (can you believe it?) last Friday, 24th of August, hailing the arrival of the age of retirement.
My mum's starting to get pensive and reflective, which is, one one hand, timely (being her 55th year alive and all); but on the other, it's kind of scary when people her age do that. Still, I've enjoyed taking some time to reflect her life these few years with her in the past few days, and also plan the next few, seeing that I'll be starting a new family with Angela soon.
I can tell that she's plenty eager to have grandkids, but though I'm not sure if the time is right for my sister... yet. But that part's none of my beeswax, though I'd be happy to play with nephews and nieces.
