Intercession
We pray every night for a good night's rest (among other things), because it's been some time since we had some. So it's no small relief when we discovered that a little ginger helps heaps in getting rid of bloatiness. We're now looking at how we're going to add it in moderation somehow during dinner - soups, food, pills, or otherwise - for a peaceful sleep.
All good on that front.
Marney Money Mony
We're currently in the midst of working out our budgets. By and large, we've been getting some very needed encouragement from unexpected sources (try colleagues for instance - over here where I work, it's well near extreme rarity) for starting early. "You'll never save enough, really. Just bit the bullet, pull the belt tighter, and go for it". Not the advice I was looking for, but it's well-meaning. I guess.
Here's the plan. We're going to try to work towards single-income sustenance, and work with the savings from there. It's doable, if we go about it the belt-pulling and bullet-eating smartly. I'm also considering a change in career, should the current prove unsuitable for the "stay-home mum" goal. Of course, I'm hoping it's not a move to a "stay-away-from-home dad" situation, which would be tragic too.
It's A Lot Of Learning Along The Way
I think it's an important growth process, this whole situation. We're both excited and nervous at the same time. Just yesterday, the missus said, "Sometimes I can't bring myself to accept that I'm pregnant." Ditto. It's all happening so fast (5 more weeks to the end of the first trimester). We're going to have to pick things up on the run.
