Dear David,
When you were born today, your Mummy and I spent the early hours of the morning wondering if it was time to receive you. Thinking that it was another false alarm, Daddy went to work, while Mummy stayed at home.
When we found out that it wasn't, we rushed to the hospital. We found that many people were there, because they wanted the same birthday as you (it's a nice date to be born, and while we did not plan it, we agree). As a result, we had nothing more than a wooden bench in a elevator lobby to let Mummy rest in, because that's all they had.
While that happened, you must have felt very upset, because you poo-pooed while you were still inside Mummy. This made the doctor decide to take you out as quickly as possible, because they wanted to make sure you were okay. There was a very interesting way you came into the world, which put Mummy in danger. Someday, I will tell it to you, when you are older.
You weighed 3.1kg, and were 45inches long. You had a rather large head. Yuo had a strong grip over the doctor's stethoscope, and you didn't want to let go. Most importantly, you were delivered safe and sound. Daddy and Mummy are proud of you. But it doesn't take much to make us happy, because we are so happy to see you.
As your Daddy, there are so many thoughts in my head. I want to tell you so many things, but I don't know where (or when) to start. Perhaps when you are older, but I don't want to wait too long.
You are so small, but there is so much you can do. I wish I could teach this to you, but I think you will discover this yourself soon enough.
We named you after a great King. Not in hopes that you will be one (Kings are overrated, and they eat too much anyway) but that you will learn with greater interest about the man you are named after. He was a man after God's own heart, something we all should be. Someday, you will understand.
It is late now, Mummy is calling me, so I have to stop writing. I hope you get to read these thoughts some time in the future, which are fresh from the day you came into our world. You are so important to us. Mummy and Daddy love you very much, and we hope you never forget that when you see and come to know us.
Good night, David.
Love,
Daddy.
Congratulations, Adrian and Angela!!! :)

Hi there Adrian & Angela:
You prob do not know me but I happened to read your blog when I was just blog-surfing. Guess what? My husband and I had the same, exactly the same wedding date as you guys.
Congrats on the arrival of an addition to your family! Hope David and Angela are doing well :)

Hi Yi, thanks for the well wishes! I'm thinking you probably had to book your wedding things quite early for the 1st of December - we managed because we picked not-so-popular locations (haha).
Thanks for stopping by! :)
