The McGurk Effect.
This wasn't particularly surprising to me, but I thought it brought back some important lessons from my psycholinguistics classes back in the university days.
Think about it. It's not just what you say. It's everything you are coming to bear in a conversation.
That makes the difference.
(I'm wondering how it came about that a Highlander came up with the theory. I stared Scotsmen in the face and still barely understood half of what he said. Except his expletives.)

Same story for me man. But I figured it was because I was looking away from the screen when the movie started launching - that means, I didn't get influenced by the guy's lip movements.
