Just A Note To Facebook Buddies: It's Not Just A Note
This is actually appearing on my blog as we speak (in case you forgot, it's at http://www.couplehood.net). I've probably sent you my blog before, just that it was in the context of a wedding invitation. Well, one year on, it's changed some, and I'm sharing this on Facebook through a nifty "blog extracting" tool. Fun. You should try it out.
Back To Business
Telling you 52 times this year that I've been having "a crazy week" is going to get boring fast, so let's get that out of the way by saying crazy is normal. I'm more intent on seeing how it can start getting (1) easier and (2) more worth my time. I'm glad to say that my writing career has gotten off to nice start - which I am grateful for - and that I'm happy that I've got some leads to work on. No doubt it's going to be a tough market, but it's also a good time to see if the strategy is sustainable. That is, if I don't burn flat out first.
The Portable Wife And Baby
The lady's getting very confident moving the boy around, which is most amazing seeing how he's nearly 8kg now (he did lose a bit of weight over that hunger strike he recently had). She's brought him out to Bugis and the bank all by herself, which is a feat when you realise how slippery the staircase at our place is. It's filled with dog pee and poo, and on occasion, soap suds from the vengeful block vigilante. That said, I'm incredibly happy that she's mobile and moving around. I love having them over for lunch.
Weekend At Work
It's challenging starting out in the field of writing freelance. I'm lucky to have landed a research/writing job that is giving me the chance to write on a topic I like very much. Also, it's given me somewhat of a portfolio that's helped me get noticed. Nice. Increasingly (I'm thinking) if I do get more work, I will eventually have to burn away weekends, which is not all that desirable. I'm zonked out over the week as it is, and I need time to recharge. Maybe it's like this starting out. But I do really wonder if there's something I can do better.
Right. Time to get back to the grind. See you soon!
